Destra’s sport content coup

Friday, 28 March 2008

Leading digital entertainment company Destra yesterday announced exclusive content deals to distribute A1 Grand Prix motor racing and UEFA Euro 2008 soccer across its media platforms.

Destra will distribute the new content in DVD form through retailers such as Big W, Target, Kmart, and JB Hi-Fi and websites such as BigPond and iTunes.

“This deal is in line with our overall strategy to acquire content that can be distributed via our existing physical and digital channels. These content licenses further reinforce Destra’s position as the number one sports DVD distributor in Australia,” Destra chief executive Domenic Carosa says.

The EUFA Cup, or European Football Championships, is established as one of the world’s most high-profile soccer competitions. The A1 Grand Prix, by contrast, is a new concept in which Formula 1 car teams race under national banners.

Destra ranked first among the fastest growing companies in the telecommunications industry in the recent SmartCompany/Dun & Bradstreet industry growth list for the sector.
