Information and news group Yahoo7 and job ads site SEEK have created a partnership that will include the launch of a new co-branded website.
The partnership also means SEEK will now become the exclusive jobs partner for Yahoo7, knocking off MyCareer, which has held the title for the past three years.
The move follows the establishment of a venture between News Corporation’s careerone.com.au and online-auction house eBay, which partnered to create new classifieds site eBay Jobs. The site offers both job ads and career advice.
SEEK strategic alliance director Justin Lyster says this similar merger will allow the job search giant to reach a larger audience.
“SEEK’s partnership with Yahoo7 will make a significant contribution to our objective of delivering the most quality jobseekers to our advertisers,” he says.
“Having job ads in front of both active and ‘passive’ jobseekers is the most successful way of communicating with potential employees in the current employment market.”
The new joint website will be launched in four weeks.
