How does Australia’s broadband compare?

Australia ranks 12th in the world for the quality of the broadband internet available to users, according to an analysis conducted by the US-based Information Technology and Innovation Foundation.
Topping the list, as per usual, are South Korea and Japan, where big populations, small distances and strong investment in infrastructure have put them ahead of the pack for some time.
At 12th, Australia ranks behind the likes of France, Denmark and Canada but ahead of Britain, US, Germany and New Zealand.
The rankings are a composite of the number of households with broadband, its price and average download speeds. Australia ranked particularly well on price, with one of the lowest monthly megabytes per second costs, but not so well on average download speeds – only Spain has slower broadband that Australia of the top 20 developed nations.
