Why Gen-Xs are always so grumpy at work

Many Gen-Xs are unhappy with their working life and want more support from their employer, according to a Human Synergistics survey of more than 200,000 workers across Australia.

A startling 70% of Gen X - workers aged from their late 20s to their early 40s – say they are dissatisfied with their working conditions; 69% report feeling detached from their organisational culture and 62% say their relationships with workmates are unfulfilling.

And, apparently, it is largely their employers’ fault, with 70% saying they receive insufficient organisational support.

Given all that gloom, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Gen-Xs generally don’t feel that positive about the future of their working lives – 67% told the survey they are unhappy with their career prospects.
