A product developed by a Sydney-based technology company has been chosen to present an application at the TechCrunch50, a prestigious conference held in San Francisco celebrating innovative new companies.
Melon Media produced spellr.us, a web application developed to assist corporate and private websites by providing a spell-check service.
The company has been chosen out of 1000 international applicants to present its product to the TechCrunch50 board, including members from sites such as Google, MySpace, Facebook and Microsoft.
"I always like to focus on products and services that solve painful business problems,” Melon Media founder and general manager Kevin Garber says. “Would you believe that there has not been an automated website spell check monitoring tool until spellr.us came along? All of our clients that we have shown the product to leave the demo with their jaw on the floor.
“Silicon Valley is this mythical place for us Aussie web entrepreneurs. I hope to come back with lots of good ideas and contacts. We will be waving the Aussie flag proudly”
