Australian Venture Capital Guide 2007

Want finance for your growing company and don’t know where to get it? At least the Australian Venture Capital Guide 2007 will point you in the right direction.

The book, which is the 14 edition, is a run down of all the sources of finance in Australia including names, emails and phone numbers, preferred location of investees, preferred business stage (whether distressed or seed or start-up) capital raised and key staff.

The book by Victor Bivell will take the first timer through the different types of equity, including seed capital, management buyout and turnaround capital.

Firms are grouped into four sections: venture capital, business angels, sources of product development and infrastructure equity.

And how encouraging is this? The 154 venture capital firms listed in the book have a minimum of $8.9 billion of capital available to invest.

In addition, the business angels have access to private investors with hundreds of millions of dollars of available capital.

One drawback? It doesn’t name any rich families that regularly invest money in start-ups and high growth firms.
