Koffeeone was started in 2000 to provide great coffee to the workplace. Founders Peter Walker and Arnold Lenczuk import their own machines from Italy, a system they claim delivers a high quality espresso coffee.
They have also developed a franchise system that has the systems of a large corporation and can be rolled out quickly. Plans include expanding interstate and increasing franchisees – currently there is one.
The market is now very competitive and only the best will survive the onslaught, the pair say. The industry is being inundated with small boutique roasters, which is similar to the explosion of small wineries in the 1980s and 1990s.
