Mark Pace started SterlingIT in 1995 from a garage with two people. They aimed to make $10,000 a month and ended up with a revenue of $2 million in the first year providing IT services to small and medium businesses.

The company has partnerships with Acer and is also the national Panasonic Toughbook Authorised Service Centre. It also has an online shop with 100,000 items updated twice daily. Last year the company hit the skids, talking a major loss after putting in place poor management. Pace says he learnt not to sit on “stale staff”. Now they plan to double staff and move into larger premises.
