Marc Carr – Mobile Data Group
My nomination for entrepreneur idol this year is Marc Carr, my CEO at Mobile Data Group. I am a colleague of Marc's, but it is Marc who drives the team with an insatiable energy that ignites action. No procrastination, everything is done on the spot, and we all regularly receive time stamped emails from him well into the early hours of the morning. First in, and last to go. I watch and learn from Marc, and when I need to understand, the door is open and time given without compromise. Marc goes to show what positive energy and drive results in from both a personal and business perspective. He has driven the growth of our company through the roof with a 10,000+% revenue increase topping the Australian technology charts, and winning the prestigious Deliotte Technology Fast 50 award this year. If driving Australia's leading technology company was not enough, Marc has still found the time to get married, get to the gym on a regular basis, and keep a travel schedule that would send most people into early retirement. And at the end of the day though, as much as business is business and the pace at which Marc operates is at a speed that would put the cartoon character Taz into a spin, it is Marc that is the main contributor to a light hearted atmosphere in the office with a quick wit and humour which is rarely beat by anyone else I know.
