Matt Bullock is the entrepreneur’s entrepreneur. Matt is the founder and CEO of eWAY. EWAY is Australia’s leading provider of payment gateway services. eWAY enables merchants to process and manage secure online and mail order processing of credit cards in real time via a simple to use internet interface. In 2007 this represents many millions of individual online transactions and hundreds of millions of dollars of ecommerce for Australian business. Clients range from the very small to the huge, many of which are Australian household names. Matt has built the company up over the past nine years through sheer will and hard work. He inspires his staff with his passion and dedication and brings out the best in his employees. Matt has taken the concept of online payment gateways further than anyone ever has before him. eWAY is constantly innovating and driving the industry forward. Matt’s drive has also recently extended beyond Australian shores with expansion into the UK and New Zealand. This is an achievement that has never even been attempted by a payment gateway business anywhere else in the world and one which was recently recognised by CeBIT.AU with its Platinum Award for Export Excellence 2007. Matt deserves this award for two reasons. First, without him many other Australian internet entrepreneurs would not have been able to set up and manage their businesses as securely, easily or as successfully. Second, he has laboured in the background for nine years without recognition and his story serves as inspiration to others that hard work, dedication and passion do pay off with perseverance.
