The great Australian love of property has formed the foundation of a sturdy business for Destiny Financial Solutions founder Margaret Lomas (pictured with husband Reuben).
Having founded the business in 1994 while raising five children, Lomas says she understands the aspiration of her clients to build a financially secure future for themselves and their families.
The mix of debt reduction and property investment advice the firm provides has proved popular, driving average annual revenue growth of 35% over the past two years. Revenue hit $4.8 million in 2007-08, up from $3.48 million in 2006-07. The company now has 21 franchises across the country.
The strategy they adopted in building the business is echoed in the advice provided to clients – educated risk backed by copious research. Two years after the business was launched, Lomas risked everything on a $60,000 radio advertising campaign. It was a calculated risk that paid off, providing the springboard for today’s business.
