Amanda Gome - Founder and Publisher, SmartCompany.com.au
Amanda Gome is the CEO of online publishing company, Private Media, which owns SmartCompany, Crikey, Startup Smart, Property Observer and The Power Index.
She is also the founder and publisher of SmartCompany.com.au, Australia’s number one news and resources publication for entrepreneurs, and StartupSmart, a site for people starting a business. And in June 2011, she launched Property Observer, led by veteran property journalist Jonathan Chancellor to provide property investors with a rich source of news and data to guide their property buying decisions.
Amanda has a long history in business journalism at both Fairfax and News. Previously Amanda was an editor and senior writer at BRW magazine, where her passion and interest in entrepreneurship led her to founding and editing two flagships, the BRW Fast 100 and Fast Starters, as well as the Emerging Companies section. Amanda is also an adjunct professor of business at RMIT University, lectures students in entrepreneurship and regularly comments to the media on business and digital publishing.
James Thomson - Editor
James Thomson is the editor of SmartCompany.com.au. Most recently James was a senior editor at news and commentary website Business Spectator. Prior to that, James was editor of BRW's Rich 200, Young Rich and Executive Rich editions. James specialises in wealthy entrepreneurs and business strategy.
Patrick Stafford - Reporter
Patrick Stafford is from RMIT University's journalism program. SmartCompany is his first venture into the world of business journalism. He will focus on technology and online-related stories, along with most other things Amanda and James tell him to do.
