After spending eight years in a senior management role with recruitment firm Hays, Benjamin Jotkowitz felt that it was time to establish a boutique accounting recruitment consultancy firm, specialising in qualified, senior and executive level jobs.
"I established Benneaux because of the realisation that in today's increasingly competitive marketplace, when it comes to identifying talent for any organisation, it really does come down to making the perfect match," Jotkowitz says.
"More often than not, clients will find themselves under pressure from many recruiters to compromise quality for speed when it comes to making what is ultimately their decision."
When it comes to landing clients Jotkowitz says: "I learnt that there are many ways to attract quality candidates - through executive search, database mining, referrals, networking, direct mail and advertising. I also learnt that one needs to display skills in pursistance, negotiation, resilience and pursuasion."
Despite Jotkowitz's commmittment to Benneaux, he says the best part of starting the business has been his ability to maintain a work/life balance.
"The best part has been the work/life balance, flexibility and challenge. Having three young children I have the ability to spend time with them whenever necessary and being ones own boss is very satisfying."
