For Sue Campbell and Karenne Howard, their nail salon franchise, nailsnow, started as a means to generate a second stream of income.
The duo, who are long-time friends, also saw a lack of reputable nail salons that focused on "healthy", safe practices.
"We couldn't find a nail bar that used accredited nail technicians and healthy nail products in our area. After researching the idea, we discovered that the nail industry in Australia, although booming, was without a healthy nail bar franchise," Campbell says.
"This has been proven over and over again by the overwhelming response from our clients seeking out a healthy alternative for their nail care, incorporated with a fun, social atmosphere."
After launching their first two salons, Campbell and Howard decided to focus on providing business opportunities to women in regional areas through franchising.
"The business really took off. Within eight months we opened our second successful salon and we are now excited to share our success with other like-minded women, offering them the opportunity to open their own ‘healthy nail bar' franchise."
WHAT HAS BEEN THE BEST PART OF STARTING YOUR OWN BUSINESS?
"The achievement of overcoming the obstacles put in our way and opening our second salon within eight months has been incredibly satisfying."
