Skye Recruitment has quickly transformed into a successful recruitment business for the civil construction, building, civil engineering and oil and gas markets.
But despite the company's basis in recruiting, founders Sophie and Kye MacDonald say hiring people for its own business wasn't an easy task.
"In the early days we made some poor hiring decisions, resulting in people that did not stay with the business. Since then we have continually refined our recruitment processes."
The recruitment industry has plenty of players, so the pair are keeping the emphasis on brand recognition in order to gain new business. Additionally, a healthy emphasis on social networking sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn has helped the company keep its reputation as a relevant, web-savvy firm.
"We regularly post news and updates on these sites, and we also use them as an opportunity to network and engage with candidates and clients."
The pair says the company, which recorded $2.2 million in turnover last year, is in a good position to grow over the next year.
