Robert Godino founded creative digital agency Studio SYN-RG due to a gap in the market he felt existed across the brand, communications and information technology industries.

Utilising their experience in brand and communications, website design, multimedia, graphic design, animation and SEO, he saw a need for an all-encompassing brand asset management solution that would help business managers, brand custodians and marketing staff manage, distribute and integrate all their brand tools and brand assets within an easily accessible, web-based resource.

So far the company has reached $500,000 in revenue with three employees, but Godino says the early days have been quite a challenge. The hardest part?

"Not having the necessary experience to deal with proposal writing, pitching, tendering, etc, and how to deal with rejection. Also difficult was managing a studio, being the accounts manager, client service, marketing and pr manager, project manger and quality control, while still expecting to function as the creative director. Suffice to say, most of the work was done after hours."

Despite these difficulties, the business has continued to grow. The business has a heavy emphasis on social media including Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. But most of all, Godino attributes the company's success to loyal and hard working staff, who are willing to learn and develop.

Over the coming months, Godino intends to increase publicity to "venture further into more R&D... our system still has much greater potential and people need to know it exists and how it can help their business, reduce costs and eliminate unnecessary resources".

TIP TO ENTREPRENEURS:

"Research everything about your business and your competitors before starting and ensure there really is a niche for your endeavour. Expect to work hard, possibly some long hours, but above all, stay true to your beliefs/vision and surround yourself with competent personnel."
