Liz Green went through several career changes before she settled on the decision to start her own business. She decided on a consultancy firm offering leadership training, behavioural and instructional design and success development profiling.
"So armed with my capability, strong work ethic, ability to quickly understand business needs and work efficiencies... I went in search of organisations that needed my help. It turned out that the organisation I resigned from to start my business, also asked me to consult back to them!"
While Green says the first few months were easy, juggling new work was a problem as she had "forgotten to keep looking forward", and had nowhere to go after a few projects were completed.
"Much to my relief, my efforts in marketing, relationship management and business development in the month of April brought in several new clients and projects. Trust me, I learnt my lesson and that will NEVER happen again."
The company is on the rise, turning over $496,540 in the last financial year.
