Andrew Northcott started labour hire business Labour Solutions Australia in 2004 at the age of 21 by hiring himself out as a labourer. The business, which is based in Brisbane, has expanded quickly and is now one of the leading labour hire companies in south east Queensland, with revenue climbing 140% last year to $3.8 million.
In 2007 the company moved into the professional placement sector with the launch of LSA Recruitment, which offers recruitment, outplacement and consulting services. In order to expand this business, Northcott has franchised LSA Recruitment. He has sold six franchises and is looking to roll out 150 franchises through Australia within the next 24 months.
Outside work, Northcott loves yacht racing and is a past national champion in the MG14 class.
