Google's Dropbox competitor to launch next month

Google is preparing to launch a Dropbox competitor during April, according to a new report from GigaOm, with the project having been in preparation for several years.

According to the report, Google Drive will offer users 1GB of storage for free, while more storage would be available for a price. Dropbox currently offers 2GB for free, and then more storage for a price.

The report also claims that the Dropbox competitor will come in a domain-specific version for Google Apps customers, and include APIs for third-party apps.

Previous reports havee indicated the service will be able to store any type of media, with files able to accessed from other computers and Android devices.
