Apple patents page-turning animation on eBooks despite prior art in BeOS

The United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted Apple a patent on displaying a page-turning animation in eBooks, despite prior art for the "invention".

The page-turning animation is covered by patent D670713, with Apple filing for the application in December 2011.
