I ♥ my mobile... Office freshening tips... Have smoothie, will travel

Aussies adore mobiles

Australians have far more mobile technology devices than Amercians, according to Forrester Research.

About 92% of Australian households have a mobile device such as a mobile, smartphone, personal digital assistant or Blackberry compared to only 76% in the US.

Freshen up your office

Spending more time at work than at home? So why not make the office a pleasant place to be? A good first step could be to implement one or two of these Boss top fresh office space ideas.

Not just bins: They’re not just for holding rubbish anymore. Design company Umbra has transformed the humble waste paper basket into an oh-so desirable design masterpiece.

Old feature wall: Thought the feature wall went out with the 1980s? Well, they’re back, but now it’s all about texture — copper, wood and old recycled materials will give your business that authentic feel.

Organic: Make the inside look a bit more like the outside — good light, nature-ish colours and smooth, organic lines will make your office more like a park and less like a prison.

Don’t look up: The roof is as important as the walls or floor to the feel of an office, but it often receives little or no design attention. Invest in good quality, interesting lighting and warm materials to make a ceiling to be proud of.

Not chairs, thrones: A great chair will make you feel like a king in more ways than one. Not only are there big occupational health and safety advantages to using well designed chairs, if they are well designed they’ll make the office look better.

Have smoothie, will travel

British company Innocent Drinks has innovated on several levels, the coolhunter reports.

First, it has taken the mobile icecream van concept and adapted it to a more health conscious age. Innocent Drink vans travel the British countryside, taking tasty fruit concoctions to smoothie addicts everywhere.

And second, these just aren’t any old vans. Innocent Drinks’ cow vans are painted in a classic black and white cow pattern, while there are even more impressive grass vans covered from top to tail in quite realistic looking synthetic grass. Makes Mr Whippy seem decidedly retro.
