Power Play: Pick the most talented person

Power Players know that recruiting well is a tough needle to thread.

Getting it wrong means your instincts are off and then there’s the part about what to do with a bad recruit when they fall short.

The great Power Players recruit talent over experience almost every time. Power Players know if the talent base is there, then teaching new recruits is relatively easy.

Power Players also know there’s something lacking in ambition about going for the nice experienced types over the raw talent.

Power Players also know that what every business needs is the doe-eyed, bushy-tailed kid who dreams big dreams.

Take a leaf out of the Power Player playbook and identify the talented ones early. The rest you can teach. And by the way, that’s the job of a great Power Player too.
