Landlords now search on Facebook

A new online service has been launched that allows landlords and potential tenants to connect via social networking giant Facebook.

The "RentMineOnline" service allows property managers to sign up to the service for a fee, which connects them to their tenants. The current residents then recommend future tenants through the service via Facebook or even Twitter.

The current residents can earn money for referring new tenants, while potential tenants gain the benefit of singing up with a landlord who has been given a glowing review through the service.

RentMineOnline makes its revenue from a sales fee for each campaign undertaken by a property manager. Unfortunately, the service is only available in the US and Canada, with no immediate plans to enter Australia.
