Recently departed Ron Walker reveals he offered $387 million to buy the shares owned by director John B Fairfax and restore peace on the Fairfax board.
The immediate challenge for new Fairfax chairman Roger Corbett will be to create lasting peace amongst the board. If he wishes to arrest the decline in Fairfax mastheads, he will have to do that quickly.
