As the skills shortage loomed back in 2003, founders David Marriott and Giles Keay started Constructive Recruitment to specialise in recruitment for the construction, engineering and resources sector. Employers and job seekers wanted specialist recruitment services and strategic advice. They passed the $1 million revenue milestone within a year and now have revenue of $3.8 million.
They keep their own staff by having innovative staff retentions strategies that include training and career development and mentoring of new staff. They also have staff reviews and pay reviews every three months and run quarterly initiatives that are target driven and rewarded with vouchers, holidays and trips away.
