Australian stocks fall as iron ore prices tumble: Afternoon market insights

Mining stocks took a big hit today as iron prices fell, pulling the rest of the Australian index lower.
At 2.15pm, the ASX200 gave up 1.06% to 4310.1, while the broader All Ordinaries index lost 1.06% to 4335.0.
The Australian dollar slipped today, buying $US1.03255.
