Markets up as RBA slashes rates: Afternoon market insights

The Australian sharemarket was edged higher today, spurred on by the RBA’s decision to cut interest rates by 0.25%.
The ASX200 added 0.87% to 4426.7, while the broader All Ordinaries index put on 0.84% to 4445.2.
The Australian dollar was largely unchanged after the RBA cut, buying $US1.03715.
