Samsung uses prank to lure viewers to its ad

Electronics company Samsung has stooped to some subdefuge to lure viewers to its latest advertisement for a cold water washing machine – but no one seems to care.

The advertisement, which has amassed more than 9 million views on YouTube, purports initially that a huge brown bear surprises a Samsung crew as they attemp to film an ad for the machine in the snow-covered mountains.

It all appears legitimate until suddenly the bear stands up, removes its coat and puts it into the machine for a cold wash. The trick has been widely praised as “soooo classic”, “un-bearably funny”, and “awesome advert”.
