Here at SmartCompany we’ve been following the growing app market extensively over 2009, so to end the year here are the team’s top five iPhone apps:
1. Flight Control – This game was developed by Melbourne studio Firemint, and has since netted the company millions. The simple yet addictive game has hit the top of the App charts around the world. $1.19.
2. Quota – Also Australian-developed, this app allows users to monitor mobile phone and internet accounts from different providers in the one app. Even comes with graphs. $2.49.
3. Facebook – Mobile social networking has thrived this year, partly due to the release of comprehensive applications such as Facebook’s official app. No cost.
4. WiFi Trak – Having a 3G signal allows good connectivity but a Wi-Fi connection is always faster. $1.19.
5. Shazam – One of the first apps available for the iPhone, it still manages to amaze. Hold the device up to a speaker playing a song, and Shazam identifies it, even producing an iTunes link. No cost.
