Google is currently testing a new feature to allow people to personalise their Google search by ranking and re-ordering their search results, Wired reports.
Currently being rolled out in the Google Experimental Labs, the Google says the purpose of the new tool is to allow you to “influence your search experience by adding, moving, and removing search results.”
In effect, it seems to work by allowing users to rank page results just by clicking on small “like it” or “don’t like it” boxes that come up beside each result. By using the function over time, you should be able to build up a good base of preferences that will fine tune your search results significantly.
All that does depend, however, on whether Google decides to introduce the tool more widely. For the moment, Google says it is an experimental feature and “may be available for only a few weeks”.
