Ms Manners,
Last week you wrote about how to eat and drink at functions. My biggest problem at these events is that my feet start hurting. Any tips?
When you have to stand for awhile you need to be standing correctly so that your feet, heels, legs and lower back don’t ache later.
Stand up straight and with one foot on an angle in front of the other (like position three in ballet) and put your weight on the back foot/heel.
You can switch your legs to share the weight from one leg to the other and this position should keep you comfortable for hours.
Keeping your thoughts off your painful feet means that you can concentrate on being your charming, wonderful self.
Enjoy your new confidence and the game of etiquette.
Kind Regards,
Ms. Manners
