Power Play: Be angry with the right person, at the right time, and for the right reason

Anger isn’t always a bad thing. It is sometimes the best emotion to communicate disappointment.

If someone has absolutely done the wrong thing, then getting angry is the right response. We all need to know when we’ve screwed up. Wrong is wrong.

The difference with Power Players is that they get angry with the right person at exactly the right time and for the right reason. If they do it right, they will never have to get angry with that person again.

In our world we are taught from childhood that angry is a ‘bad’ emotion. That’s not true. How else do we show our displeasure? Moreover it is an honest emotion, as honest as sadness or joy.

Better to get angry, get it fixed and then get over it. Passive-aggressive becomes the default position when anger is stifled. Don’t be one of those people – we all know someone who thrives on “I’m fine” syndrome.

Be honest about your anger. It’s healthy.
