Melbourne-based Small Business Mentoring Service has marked its 35th anniversary, with 100,000 businesses having used its services since it was founded.
The federal government’s JobTrainer program is set to be extended for another 12 months, as part of a plan to ensure young Australians have in-demand skills.
Private higher education providers that previously relied on international students will receive a $53 million support package in this year’s federal budget.
Under the program, Victorian apprentices and trainees will receive 1,500 opportunities each year for four years to work on some of the state’s largest construction projects.
