How Zeep Medical started
Robin Jerome and Glenn Young had a combined 35 years of experience building recruitment companies in Europe, Australia and Asia before they fixed their focus on a vastly underserved sector – recruiting doctors in rural and regional listings.
Ignoring concerns it couldn’t be done profitably, they’ve proven their doubters wrong and now work with 200 hospitals.
Growth
Zeep is now one of the five largest suppliers of doctors to Australian hospitals, with more than 33,000 registered.
The company invests more than $270,000 a year in Facebook lead generation and Google Adwords to attract more doctors, to build a bigger pool to whom they can pitch the benefits of working in smaller communities.
Compared to the last financial year, Zeep Medical’s revenue has skyrocketed from $14 million to $24 million.
Where to next
Despite Zeep Medical’s efforts, there is still a vast, unmet demand for doctors in regional and remote communities.
The founders are expanding into social care and allied health services, covering occupational therapists, speech pathologists, psychologists and behavioural support workers.
From there it will take on dentistry, nursing, aged care and pharmacists and make an international move, launching Zeep Medical overseas in the UK, servicing the NHS.
