Blokes are taking their weddings more seriously, heralding the rise of the so-called “groomzilla”.
According to Rob Greca, managing director of Melbourne-based Vogue Weddings and Events, men are stamping their personality on an event traditionally organised by women.
“Couples take equal responsibility in paying for the wedding now, when, before, the bride’s family would pay for it,” Greca says.
“So if a groom is going to pay for the flowers, he wants to know what they are getting.”
Why not launch a wedding planning business that works exclusively with grooms, or at least makes them feel more involved in the process?
