While most entrepreneurs are like sponges that soak up news, information and industry gossip, some start-up business owners are so busy working away that they don’t take time to monitor what’s happening in their sector.
I’ve even heard some don’t read Taskmaster every day. Amazing, but true!
But really, there is no excuse for not being on top of the news at all times, and particularly on top of the news from your sector. Markets can change rapidly, and the uninformed entrepreneur can miss and opportunity (or a threat) if they keep their head too far down in work.
So here’s what you are going to do – spend half an hour searching around the internet for a blog that covers the goings-on and trends in your sector that you will check every single day.
It might be attached to an industry news website or a more general business website or it may be a stand-alone blog written by an industry expert.
There are lots of blogs on marketing, digital media, leadership, management and entrepreneurship (if you are stuck for some suggestions, check out this story on the top 25 business blogs).
Most are a mix of news, trends and insights that will be provide you with an update, and some inspiration every day.
