Australian Institute for Commercialisation swallowed up by QMI Solutions

The Australian Institute for Commercialisation has merged with QMI Solutions in a bid to offer better support to entrepreneurs from its Queensland base.

The AIC will become the fourth division of QMI Solutions, which has previously focused on fostering innovation in the manufacturing industry.

The newly-formed organisation will work with entrepreneurs, industry groups and governments to commercialise promising business ideas.

According to QMI Solutions, the merger will give its clients a greater breadth of expertise across different industries, larger networks for collaboration and a wider range of programs and services.

Through its four divisions, QMI Solutions will focus upon building skills, increasing performance and encouraging innovation.

The move follows the resignation of Rowan Gilmore, CEO of the AIC, in June. Gilmore gave a downbeat assessment of the prospects for start-ups upon his exit.

 
QMI CEO Jim Walker says the merger will aid customers of both organisations.
