Australian universities may not yet be in the same entrepreneurial league as their US counterparts, which have seen the on-campus creation of Facebook among many other storied businesses.

But there is increasing recognition of the innovation coming out of our universities, as further evidenced by today’s news of a $2.3 million investment in a Melbourne University-backed venture that’s just one year old.
