A sleeping “helmet” lets the wearer drop their head almost anywhere for 40 winks in comfort.
Called the Ostrich Pillow, it’s a padded head sack with nose and mouth breathing holes, and even hand holes for when napping at a desk.
The Ostrich Pillow was created by Kawamura-Ganjavian, a young architecture and design studio that focuses on “observing and understanding contemporary human needs”.
“We believe that sleep is one of the most basic human essentials and, due to our lifestyles, our traditional methods of sleep have had to change,” the company says on its Kickstarter campaign.
“Our dream is to improve the world through our environment and products, even if it is while snoring… Ostrich Pillow is a revolutionary new product to enable easy power naps.”
“Ostrich Pillow has been designed to allow you to create a little private space within a public one, to relax and unwind.”
“Its soothing soft interior shelters and isolates your head and hands (mind and body) for a short break, without needing to leave your desk, chair, bench or wherever you may be.”
As consumers spend more time in transit – whether it be on planes, trains or buses – anything that can help them sleep is bound to be a success.
So perhaps you can create your own sleeping “tool”.
