Emulate an Amiga 500 computer in your web browser

It’s amazing how far technology has come over the past couple of decades.

Back in 1987, the Amiga 500 and its successors revolutionised the computer industry. Now, if you run Google Chrome, you can run an Amiga 500 in your web browser – here’s how.

The full explanation of how this tech demo came about can be read here.

The demo can be accessed at this website, although note you need to use Google Chrome for it to work.

Once it loads, click the red arrow. Just like the good old days, Workbench takes a couple of minutes to load.

When it does, double click on the disk icon called ‘First Demos’ for a few demos. When you’re done, hit the ESC key to get your regular mouse cursor back.
