By now you’ve probably heard about Rupert Murdoch joining Twitter, but if you haven’t been following his Tweets then hurry up – it’s incredibly entertaining and more than a little thought provoking.
Rupert is experimenting a lot. He seems to jump from political statements to personal stuff to little jokes. It’s telling that one Tweet suggested that a few people a terrified what he might say next, and I can understand why.

Plenty of people have laughed at Rupert for taking so long to get onto Twitter, but I’m sure there are lots of entrepreneurs out there whose laughter would be a little nervous because they aren’t even close to getting on Twitter yet.
I see plenty of company accounts, but not so actual entrepreneurs on Twitter.
The thing I’ve noticed – and I reckon Rupert might have seen it too – is that Twitter is a very personal medium.
People like to know that companies are on Twitter, but it is real people that users actually engage with. If they like your company, they will be interested in your thoughts, opinions and insights and welcome the chance to talk directly to you.
You don’t necessarily need to follow Rupert’s lead and Tweet five or six times a day – just once a day will show you are engaged.
But give it a try. Listen, watch and communicate.
Get it done – today!
