Maestrano secures patents for cloud apps integrator Connec!

Cloud-based business app provider Maestrano has secured US and worldwide patents for Connec!, a world first development that integrates complex cloud applications from different vendors with one click.

On Wednesday night the company was named the winner of the Pioneer Startup Award at the New South Wales iAwards.

Maestrano chief executive officer and co-founder Stephane Ibos says the technology will make cloud software far more accessible for small and medium businesses.

He says prior to the development of Connec! cloud-based computing applications were ‘siloed’ – the information contained within application couldn’t be easily shared with cloud-based applications from other vendors.

Connec! links Maestrano’s cloud-based business apps with each other, allowing them to share data and reducing manual data entry requirements.

“Connec! is only the beginning of the adventure, as we go, we will continue to make the system smarter,” Ibos says.

“Next month we’ll be adding between five and 10 new offerings. The value for these guys is that suddenly they become part of a bigger ecosystem.

“Integrating enterprise applications has traditionally been complex, slow and expensive, priced beyond the reach of small business.

“We are bringing ready to use integrated solutions to SMBs, in a one stop shop designed for non-technical users, helping them to be more efficient, more profitable and more competitive.”

Maestrano raised $1 million worth of funding in its first three months and is in the midst of a B-stage round of capital raising.

The company is looking to raise $10 million, Ibos offered no comment on the progress of the capital raise but says the company will have more to say in the coming months.

Over the last six months Ibos says more than 1100 businesses have joined Maestrano, with Australian and American customers making up 80% of its user base.

Ibos says the new technology will be central to the company’s future growth and a key point of differentiation from its competitors.
