Japanese phone firm Willcom has unveiled the world’s smallest mobile phone. Measuring 3.2 centimetres by seven centimetres, it is just one centimetre thick and weighs 32 grams.

The Phone Strap 2 WX06A boasts a 2.5 centimetre colour OLED display more usually found in watches, and a foldout antenna. It is a quarter of the weight of the iPhone.

At this stage the phone will only be available in Japan. However, because of its size, the handset does not have a camera – although it can be used to send emails.

Consumers are always looking for smaller versions of everyday items. Can you think of any others that could become more compact?
