Warner Brothers has purchased mobile app Flixster, and has taken control of the movie review site Rotten Tomatoes as part of the transaction as well.
In a statement, the entertainment giant said both the Flixster and Rotten Tomatoes properties will remain independent and stay in their current officers.
The company said Flixster “will expand its services beyond movie discovery to enable digital content ownership and delivery across any connected digital device”.
The move comes as Warner Brothers attempts to boost its digital offering. Last month, the company showed off a new app called Digital Everywhere that allows users to see a collection of various purchase and rental portals for films and television shows.
Part of the Digital Everywhere platform will also allow users to access content on their iOS and Android devices.
