Podcasting goes mainstream

This year podcasting really hit its straps, with the ABC often serving more than two million podcasts each month and Austereo’s radio stations boasting over 850,000 podcast downloads every month, according to The Age.
People can listen to what they like, when they like. Broadcasters such as the ABC make whole programs available for download on to home computers or iPods. Others make “best of” collections of the most popular presenters.
