Halfbrick Studios has revealed that its Fruit Ninja iPhone game has been downloaded more than 300 million times since its initial 2010 release.
In figures revealed to Pocket Gamer, Halfbrick claims that its app has been downloaded by more people than the combined populations of New York, London, Beijing, Paris, and Tokyo, and they have sliced through around 1.5 trillion pieces of fruit in the game.
Halfbrick Studios founder Luke Muscat first released the Fruit Ninja iPhone app on April 21, 2010, after developing the game in Brisbane.
By June 2, 2010, it had already been downloaded 400,000 times, bringing in at least $330,000 in revenue for the company, becoming part of a wave of Australian tech companies to infiltrate Silicon Valley.
