A telecommunications analyst believes Microsoft is set to gain 17% of the smartphone market next year on the back of its Windows Phone software.

According to the China Post, Market Intelligence Centre analyst Chang Chi says Windows will control 17% of the market, with Android leading at 38%

Chi also predicts that Symbian and iOS will hold 23% and 18% of the market respectively.
