Mozilla has released a video showing off its first two Firefox OS smartphones, built by ZTE and Alcatel.

The video was posted after ZTE and Alcatel showed off the new phones, dubbed the ZTE Open and the Alacatel One Touch Fire, at the 2013 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The video comes as a number of industry giants, including Optus, Telstra, LG, Huawei and Sony, expressed support for the low-cost smartphone platform, which is based on a mobile version of Mozilla’s web browser.

In the video, Mozilla senior vice president of products Jay Sullivan also updates us on the Firefox OS smartphone, along with instant app access and the deep embedding of social media in the platform:

With its first smartphones due later this year, Mozilla has also launched its Firefox Flicks competition, where aspiring film makers are encouraged to create a shirt film including a Firefox mobile:
