Microsoft has revealed that mobile devices running its forthcoming Windows RT operating system for ARM-based mobile devices will not be able to connect to Active Directory domains.
According to Ars Technica, IT managers will instead need to support a new management client, which will allow end users to download business apps from a self-service portal.
Should an employee misplace a device or change jobs, IT managers will be able to remotely delete any business apps through the management client.
Microsoft says the new system will be a practical response to employees who bring their own devices to work, coming as part of a large scale rollout of Windows 8 and Windows RT mobile devices to begin later this year.
