Twitter has introduced a new profile directory allowing users to search through Twitter accounts in alphabetical order.

The new page is similar to existing directories available on other social media websites including LinkedIn and Facebook.

According to Webpronews, the new directory doesn’t feature any contextual or profile information about users, leading to speculation the new directory may at this point be aimed more at SEO rather than end users.

While the profile directory page includes a search field, it brings up a regular Twitter search rather than a search of directory pages or the directory page where a particular account is listed.
